Stepping hard on the gas or brake while driving in the snow can cause your car to lose traction, and then you may lose control of the vehicle. Another essential driving tip is to stay further away from the car in front of you than you normally would. During warmer weather, you may stay two to three car lengths behind the car in front of you, but during snowy weather, you should increase that to five to six car lengths.
